But what stories from 2013 really got you clicking and sharing? Here you are the 10 most popular stories of the year on ONE.org/US. Click here.

Song: Someone like you by Adele

Listen to the song and complete the gaps.

http://images.persianblog.ir/542539_vO05LCBo.jpgSomeone like you by Adele

I ___________ that you're settled down
That you _________ a girl and you're __________ now
I ___________ that your dreams _________ true
Guess she ___________ you things I didn't give to you
Old friend, why are you so shy?
Ain't like you to hold back or hide from the light
I hate to turn up out of the blue, ___________
But I couldn't stay away, I couldn't fight it
I had ___________ you'd see my face and that you'd be ___________
That for me, it isn't over
Never mind, I'll find someone like you
I wish nothing but the best for you, too
Don't forget me, I beg, I remember you ___________
Sometimes it lasts in love, but sometimes it hurts instead
Sometimes it lasts in love, but sometimes it hurts instead
You know how the time flies
Only yesterday ___________ the time of our lives
We were born and ___________ in a summer haze
Bound by the surprise of our glory days
I hate to turn up out of the blue, ___________
But I couldn't stay away, I couldn't fight it
I had __________ you'd see my face and that you'd be ___________
That for me, it isn't over
Never mind, I'll find someone like you
I wish nothing but the best for you, too
Don't forget me, I beg, I remember you ___________
Sometimes it lasts in love, but sometimes it hurts instead, yeah
Nothing compares, no worries or cares
Regrets and mistakes, they're memories made
Who would have known how bittersweet this would taste?
Never mind, I'll find someone like you
I wish nothing but the best for you
Don't forget me, I beg, I remember you ___________
Sometimes it lasts in love, but sometimes it hurts instead
Never mind, I'll find someone like you
I wish nothing but the best for you, too
Don't forget me, I beg, I remember you ___________
Sometimes it lasts in love, but sometimes it hurts instead
Sometimes it lasts in love, but sometimes it hurts instead

There are some great lyrics in this song. Let's take a look at some of the words and phrases from the lyrics so we can understand and talk about the meaning of the song.

§  Settled down - phrasal verb - to have found a stable life - possibly with a partner, a house of your own
§  Hold back - phrasal verb - to remain in control, to stop yourself doing something
§  Out of the blue - idiom - a surprise
§  Time flies - idiom - time passes quickly
§  Glory days - time in the past when things were better than they are today
§  Bittersweet - something that tastes bitter and sweet or something good that also makes us feel sad

Are there any more words or phrases you don't understand?

The History of English in Ten Minutes

Where did the phrase 'a wolf in sheep's clothing' come from? And when did scientists finally get round to naming sexual body parts? Voiced by Clive Anderson, this entertaining romp through 'The History of English' squeezes 1600 years of history into 10 one-minute bites, uncovering the sources of English words and phrases from Shakespeare and the King James Bible to America and the Internet. Bursting with fascinating facts, the series looks at how English grew from a small tongue into a major global language before reflecting on the future of English in the 21st century.
