Love Story meets Viva la Vida
Viva la Vida
Viva La Vida or Death And All His Friends, is the 4th album from Coldplay, the immensly popular British alternative rock band. Viva La Vida was released worldwide in June 2008, features 10 tracks and sold over 300,000 copies on the first day of it's release! Viva La Vida has already become a number one selling album in 36 countries around the world and is now the most downloaded paid album of all time thanks to iTunes and Amazon digital sales.
The song's Spanish title, "Viva la Vida", is taken from a painting by 20th century Mexican artist Frida Kahlo. It translates into English as "Long live life".However, the album cover is not this painting and is actually a painting called "Liberty Leading the People (La Liberté Guidant Le Peuple)" by a French painter named Eugène Delacroix, which commemorates the July Revolution of 1830.
The song has inspired a great deal of debate about its meaning. People have claimed that the song may be about various subjects, such as the French Revolution. The band members themselves do not appear to have corroborated any of these claims, and have referred only to kings and revolutionaries in general, rather than any particular king.Watch the video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=44xirQ55IgA
